Layered Lettuce Salad

  1. Tear lettuce into small pieces; place in 9 x 12-inch dish or bowl.
  2. Layer the next 6 ingredients in the order given.
  3. Add sugar to mayonnaise; spread over the top of the salad as you would frosting a cake.
  4. Top with cheese and cover.
  5. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
  6. Add more bacon bits on top.
  7. Toss when ready to use.
  8. This salad will hold for a quite a while.
  9. Leftover salad can be kept in refrigerator for later use.
