Apple Fritters With Chocolate Caramel Sauce
- 1/2 cup sparkling apple juice
- 3/4 cup self-rising flour, sifted
- 1 1/4 cups cream
- 2.5 oz Mars or Milky Way candy bar, finely chopped
- 5.25 oz fudge finely chopped
- 6 cups oil, for deep frying
- 3 None Fuji apples, cored, sliced into 4 rings
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- To make batter: Combine juice with 1 cup cold water. In a large bowl, whisk flour and combined water and juice together until smooth.
- To make sauce: In a saucepan, combine cream, candy bar and fudge. Stir over a low heat 4-5 minutes until smooth. Keep warm.
- Meanwhile, in a large saucepan heat oil on medium. Working in 4 batches, dip apple rings into batter, draining off excess. Gently lower into hot oil. Deep-fry 2-3 minutes, turning, until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towel.
- Toss hot fritters in combined sugar and cinnamon. Serve fritters hot with chocolate caramel sauce.
