Upside-Down Pear And Chocolate Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0F. Grease and line a deep 8 inch cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add 4 tbsp butter and 1/4 cup sugar. Add pears and cook, covered, for 5 mins, stirring occasionally, until pear is just soft. Arrange pear slices in base of prepared pan.
  3. Beat remaining ingredients, except chocolate, until combined. Beat vigorously for another 2 mins then beat in chocolate until combined. Pour over pears in prepared pan. Bake for about 1 hour 15 mins, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 mins before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
