Meringue Flower Cake
- 1 None yellow cake layer (9-inch)
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream, whipped
- 8 oz small strawberries
- 3 None store-bought meringue nests (3-inch)
- 8 None pink marshmallows
- Using a serrated knife, cut cake in half horizontally. Place one half on a serving plate or cake stand. Spread 1/3 of whipped cream evenly over cake on plate.
- Wash, hull and dry strawberries. Using a small knife, slice the pointed tip from 3 strawberries and set aside. Thinly slice remaining strawberries. Arrange sliced strawberries over whipped cream on cake. Top with remaining cake layer.
- Spread 1 tbsp of whipped cream on each meringue nest. Place strawberry tips in center of cream to resemble flower stamens.
- Using scissors, snip each marshmallow crosswise into 2 slices. Shape slightly to resemble flower petals. To make each flower, arrange 5 slices around the strawberry tip on each meringue nest. Spread remaining whipped cream evenly over top of cake.
- Arrange meringue flowers on cake.
