Plum Streusel Loaf

- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp butter, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds, coarsely chopped
- 2 tbsp rolled oats

- 12 tbsp (1 1/2 sticks) butter, chopped, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 None eggs
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 can (15 oz) plums, drained, pitted and halved
- None None Whipped cream, to serve (optional)
- Preheat the oven to 325u0b0F. Grease and line an 9 x 4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper, extending the paper over long sides for handles.
- For the streusel, sift flour into a medium bowl. Rub in butter using fingertips until crumbly. Stir in remaining ingredients. Set aside.
- Beat butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition until well mixed. Stir in combined sifted flours then milk until well blended. Spoon into the prepared pan, smoothing top.
- Arrange plums, cut side up, on top of cake, pressing down gently. Sprinkle evenly with streusel topping.
- Bake 55-60 mins, until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan 15 mins. Remove from pan; completely on wire rack. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
