Spaghetti In Creamy Vodka Sauce With Sautéed Steak

  1. Cook the broccoli in a saucepan of boiling salted water for 3 mins. Drain, rinse under cold water and drain again. Set aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 5 mins. Add the vodka and simmer for 2 mins. Add the diced tomatoes and sugar and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, season with salt and pepper and simmer for 10-15 mins until the flavors have blended.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to the package directions. Heat the vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak, season with salt and pepper and stir-fry for 2-3 mins until browned. Remove to a plate.
  4. Drain the spaghetti and return to the cooking pot. Stir in the heavy cream, tomato sauce and broccoli and gently warm through for 1-2 mins. Divide among four bowls and top with the steak and any accumulated juices. Sprinkle with the Parmesan and serve.
