Souvlaki With Greek Salad
- 1 1/2 lb sirloin steak, cut into 3/4 inch cubes
- 1 None large onion, cut into wedges
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tbsp dried Greek oregano

- 4 None medium plum tomatoes, coarsely chopped
- 2 None Persian cucumbers, coarsely chopped
- 1 None small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 None large green pepper, coarsely chopped
- 3 oz kalamata olives, pitted
- 5 oz feta cheese, coarsely chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp fresh oregano leaves
- For the souvlaki, thread steak and onion wedges alternately onto skewers. Arrange in a single layer in a large shallow dish. Whisk together oil, lemon juice and oregano then pour over skewers. Cover and chill for 3 hours or overnight.
- For the Greek salad, combine tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, pepper, olives and cheese in a large bowl. Whisk together remaining ingredients then pour over salad and toss gently to combine.
- Preheat grill and oil grates. Working in batches, cook souvlaki until browned all over and cooked to your liking.
- Serve souvlaki with Greek salad.
