Beef Teriyaki Platter With Asparagus
- 3 None thick sirloin steaks, about 1 1/3 lbs, trimmed
- 1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
- 2 inch piece fresh ginger, grated finely
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 lb thick asparagus, trimmed
- 8 None large scallions, trimmed
- 1 tsp wasabi paste
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- None None Steamed rice, to serve
- Place the steaks, teriyaki sauce, ginger and garlic in a dish. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight to marinate.
- Remove steaks from marinade. Cook the steaks on a heated griddle plan or oiled grill until browned on both sides and cooked as desired. Transfer the steaks to a warm plate, cover and leave to rest for 5 mins.
- Meanwhile, saute the asparagus and scallions until just tender.
- Slice the steaks thinly and place on a warmed serving platter with the asparagus and scallions. Serve with wasabi, soy sauce and steamed rice, if desired.
