Chocolate Balls
- 4 oz cream cheese, chopped
- 1 cup Nutella
- 12 oz pound cake, crumbled
- 1/2 cup ground almonds, toasted
- 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 1 tbsp vegetable shortening
- 1/4 cup flaked coconut
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- Line a baking pan with foil. Beat cream cheese and Nutella in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth. Mix in cake crumbs and almonds. Refrigerate until firm enough to handle.
- Roll tablespoonfuls of mixture into balls. Arrange on prepared pan.
- Melt chocolate and vegetable shortening in a small saucepan on low heat, stirring. Remove from heat.
- Using 2 forks, coat balls in the chocolate mixture. Toss chocolate balls in coconut or cocoa powder. Refrigerate until firm. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Pack into boxes as a gift.
