Orange Crush Pound Cake
- 1 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. margarine, softened
- 2 3/4 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. Orange Crush soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. orange extract
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- 1/4 c. margarine, softened
- 2/3 (1 lb.) pkg. confectioners sugar
- Cream shortening, 1/4 cup margarine and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time.
- Sift flour and salt together.
- Add to batter alternately with orange soda, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in extracts.
- Spoon into greased and floured tube pan.
- Bake at 325u0b0 to 350u0b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
- Cool in pan and remove to wire rack to cool completely.
- Combine cream cheese, 1/4 cup margarine and confectioners sugar in mixing bowl.
- Mix until smooth.
- Spread over cake.
