Cousin Charlie'S Christmas Caramel Corn

  1. Place first 3 ingredients on a cookie sheet with edges.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, combine next 4 ingredients.
  3. Cook over medium heat to boiling, stirring often.
  4. Continue, stirring occasionally, until mixture is golden brown (about 15 minutes).
  5. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda and vanilla.
  6. Pour over popcorn mixture, stirring gently to coat.
  7. Bake at 300u0b0 for 15 minutes; stir.
  8. Bake 5 minutes more.
  9. Transfer to foil; cool thoroughly.
  10. Break up.
  11. Store in airtight container.
  12. Makes about 10 cups.
