Irish Bran Bread
- 3 c. white flour (Pillsbury's all-purpose)
- 1 c. unprocessed bran (Quaker)
- 1 level tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. margarine
- buttermilk (about 2 c.)
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl. Make a circular hole in the middle and add buttermilk while mixing it with the flour in a circular motion.
- Continue doing this until all is formed into a cake of dough.
- Remove from the bowl.
- Shake some flour on the counter and knead a little with hands.
- Then form into a circle or round ball and flatten out a little.
- Cut into four quarters and place on a floured pan.
- When oven has reached 400u0b0, put bread in it and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove from pan and let cool.
- Then enjoy a delicious slice of Irish Bran Bread coated with butter!
