Cinnamon And Walnut Syrup Cake
- 3 None large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup self-rising flour, sifted
- 3 tsp ground cinnamon
- 15 tbsp butter, melted
- 3/4 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
- None None Sugar Syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0F. Grease an 8 inch-square cake pan and line base with parchment paper.
- Whip eggs until thick and creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until dissolved between additions. Beat in flour and cinnamon. Beat in butter then fold in nuts. Transfer to prepared pan and bake for 30 mins.
- Meanwhile, to make the sugar syrup, combine sugar and 3/4 cup water in a small saucepan. Stir over medium heat, without boiling, until sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 5 mins.
- Let cake cool in pan for 5 mins then transfer to a wire rack set over a rimmed tray. Pour hot syrup over hot cake. Serve cake warm or cold.
