Frozen Strawberry Dessert
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. strawberries
- 2 eggs whites
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 c. whipping cream, whipped or Cool Whip
- In jelly roll pan stir melted butter and brown sugar.
- With fork mix in flour and nuts.
- Distribute over bottom of pan (crumbs).
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring once.
- Let cool.
- Prepare fruit.
- In large mixing bowl beat egg whites to soft peaks, gradually adding the 1 cup sugar.
- Add strawberries along with lemon juice.
- Beat on high speed until triple in volume and stiff peaks form (about 20 minutes).
- Fold in whipped cream. Arrange part of crumb mixture on bottom of 12 x 8-inch pan.
- Add egg mixture.
- Sprinkle remainder of crumbs on top.
- Freeze.
