Fruity Bread And Butter Pudding
- 1 1/2 lbs fruit bread, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 4 None eggs
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
- None None Cinnamon sugar, for sprinkling
- None None Fresh or canned fruit, for serving
- Preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Spread loaf slices lightly with butter. Place half the slices in bottom of six 1 1/2-cup baking dishes or one 2-quart baking dish.
- Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Whisk in cream. Pour half the cream mixture over bread in dishes. Repeat layers with remaining bread slices and cream mixture. Let stand for 30 mins.
- Place dishes on a baking pan. Bake for 30-35 mins for small puddings or 45 mins for large pudding, until puddings are puffed and light golden. Let stand for 5-10 mins before serving.
- Sprinkle with a little cinnamon sugar and serve with fresh or canned fruit.
