Pecan Caramel Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0F. Grease and line a 12 x 8 inch rimmed baking tray. Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl. Cut in 6 tbsp cubed butter until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add egg and mix to form a soft dough. Press into base of prepared pan. Bake for 15 mins.
  2. Meanwhile, to make caramel topping, melt remaining butter in a small saucepan. Remove from heat, add honey, brown sugar and self-rising flour. Stir until smooth. Arrange pecans over cooked base then pour caramel over top. Bake for another 15 mins. Let cool in pan. Slice and serve.
