Blue Cheese Twists
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup self-rising flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 1/2 tbsp butter, finely chopped
- 4 oz firm blue cheese, grated
- 5 oz grated Cheddar cheese
- 1 None large egg yolk
- 1 pinch paprika
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0F. Grease 2-3 baking trays.
- Sift flour and salt into a large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs then stir in cheese. Add egg yolk and 3 tsp water. Mix until combined. Turn out onto a floured work surface and knead until smooth. Cover and chill for 30 mins.
- Roll dough out into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into strips 4 inches long by 1/3 inch wide. Twist each strip then place about 3/4 inch apart on baking trays. Sprinkle lightly with paprika. Bake for 20 mins, or until lightly browned. Let cool on trays. Serve.
