Cherry And Chocolate Heart-Shaped Scones

  1. Sift flour, baking powder and baking soda with a pinch of salt. Add sugar. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add vanilla extract and buttermilk. Add chocolate and cherries then bring together to form a dough with your hands. It should be quite dry.
  2. Preheat oven to 400u0b0F. Roll out dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of 2/3 inch. Using a 3 1/2 inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out 8 hearts. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for about 15 mins until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack, then serve.
