Gingersnaps
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 stick butter
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. molasses (Grandma's molasses)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. coriander
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 tsp. cardamon
- 2 tsp. dried orange peel
- Mix the flour with all spices except orange peel.
- Mix butter and sugar together gradually, then add egg, orange peel and molasses.
- Gradually add flour and spice mixture.
- Mixture is very thin.
- Cover with Saran Wrap and towel and leave on counter in warm place overnight.
- Will thicken.
- Grease pan.
- Take small amounts and roll very thin.
- Cut in small shapes.
- Bake at 300u0b0 about 8 to 10 minutes until brown.
- Let cool and then put in airtight container.
