Fig-Glazed Ham

- None None whole cloves
- 15 1/2 lb whole leg ham on bone, skin removed, fat scored in a diamond pattern
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup fig jam
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 8 None fresh figs, halved
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0F. Place 1 oven shelf on lowest position and remove other shelves.
- Press a whole clove in each diamond of scored fat. Place ham on a rack in a roasting pan. Pour 1 cup water into pan. Set aside.
- To make the glaze, combine brown sugar, fig jam, apple juice, vinegar and cinnamon over low heat and stir until smooth. Strain. Set 2 tbsp aside for figs. Brush 1/4 of the glaze over ham. Bake for 45 mins, basting every 10-15 mins with glaze and pan juices, until caramelized. Let rest for 10 mins.
- Meanwhile, brush figs with reserved glaze. Arrange on a baking tray and bake for 8-10 mins, until beginning to caramelize.
- Carve ham into slices. Serve warm or at room temperature with figs.
