Chocolate And Pecan Scones

  1. Preheat the oven to 425u0b0F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. Sift flour into a large bowl. Add butter. Rub in lightly using fingertips. Add chocolate, pecans and sugar. Mix well.
  3. Mix milk and egg in a small bowl; reserve about 1 tbsp. Add remaining milk mixture to flour mixture; mix quickly to a soft, sticky dough. Do not over-mix.
  4. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead lightly. Press or roll out dough to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut out 16 rounds. Place close together on prepared pan. Brush with reserved milk mixture.
  5. Bake for 12-15 mins or until scones sound hollow when tapped. Cool on a wire rack.
  6. Serve dusted with cocoa powder and accompanied with cream.
