Five Layer Dinner
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. cooked ground beef
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder
- 1 can cooked potatoes, sliced or cubed
- 1 can string beans
- 1 can corn
- 4 medium tomatoes, sliced
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. grated cheese
- 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- Cook onion in shortening until almost tender.
- Add meat and salt.
- Then add pepper and chili powder.
- Stir until well blended. Place in a well greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
- Place potatoes in a layer over meat; add a layer of beans and a layer of corn.
- Sprinkle each layer lightly with a layer of corn.
- Top with tomatoes and sprinkle with sugar.
- Add cheese and parsley.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 minutes.
- Serves 6.
