Okra Seafood Gumbo

  1. Boil crabs until they turn red (about 20 minutes). Set aside and reserve water.
  2. Wash okra and cut into 1/4-inch rounds.
  3. Put 2 tablespoons of bacon fat in an iron skillet and fry okra, stirring often, to prevent burning, until it is browned and dried out, with all trace of sliminess gone.
