Satay Shrimp With Five Spice
- 1/4 cup store-bought satay sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tsp mild curry powder
- 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tsp vegetable or peanut oil
- 1 None onion, cut into wedges
- 4 oz snow peas, trimmed
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- None None Cooked white rice, lemon wedges, to serve
- Combine the satay sauce, garlic, curry powder and five-spice in a large bowl. Add the shrimp and toss to combine.
- Heat a wok or large skillet on high heat. Add half the oil and swirl to coat the surface. Stir-fry the onion for 2 mins or until soft. Remove from the pan. Add the remaining oil to the wok and swirl to coat the surface. Add the shrimp mixture and stir-fry for 2 mins or until the shrimp change in color.
- Return the onion to the wok. Add the snow peas and 1 tbsp water and stir-fry for 2 mins or until the shrimp are cooked and the vegetables are just tender.
- Serve over rice. Sprinkle with bean sprouts. Serve with lemon wedges.
