Sangria
- 6 None whole cloves
- 1 None cinnamon stick
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 cups orange juice
- 1/2 cup port
- 1 strip (4 inches) orange peel
- 3 cups red wine, such as pinot noir
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/2 cup gin
- 1/2 cup vermouth
- 1/3 cup grenadine
- 5 cups 7-Up
- 1 None orange, quartered and thinly sliced
- 1 None red apple, quartered, cored and thinly sliced
- Stir spices, sugar, orange juice, port and orange peel in medium saucepan on medium heat, without boiling, until sugar has dissolved. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 mins. Strain into large, heatproof bowl; cool.
- Add wine, brandy, gin, vermouth, grenadine, 7-Up and orange to juice mixture. Cover; refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight.
- Add apple just before serving.
