Sangria

  1. Stir spices, sugar, orange juice, port and orange peel in medium saucepan on medium heat, without boiling, until sugar has dissolved. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 mins. Strain into large, heatproof bowl; cool.
  2. Add wine, brandy, gin, vermouth, grenadine, 7-Up and orange to juice mixture. Cover; refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight.
  3. Add apple just before serving.
