Pear And Beer Crumble
- 2/3 cup amber beer,
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 None cinnamon stick
- 1 None star anise
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1 None lemon, zested and juiced
- 2 None pears, peeled, cored and quartered
- 2 None cloves
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup ground almonds
- 4 tbsp butter
- Bring the beer, 1/4 cup of the sugar, the spices, lemon zest and lemon juice to a boil in a saucepan. Add the pears to the syrup and simmer them for about 15-20 mins, until they are just tender. Remove the pan from the heat and leave the pears to cool in the syrup.
- In a food processor, pulse the flour, the remaining sugar, the almonds and butter into a crumble topping then chill it for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 400u0b0F. Spread the mixture evenly on an oven-proof dish lined with parchment paper and bake it for 10-12 mins until golden. Take it out of the oven and leave it to cool.
- Cut the pears into cubes and put them into 4 bowls or glasses. Pour some syrup over the pears and sprinkle them with the crumble topping. Serve immediately.
