Orange Cardamom Sour Cream Cake
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 2 None large eggs
- 2 tbsp orange zest
- 1/2 cup self-rising flour, sifted
- 1 tsp ground cardamom
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- None None heavy cream or ice cream, to serve
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0F. Lightly grease and line base and sides of an 8 inch round springform cake pan.
- Beat butter, sugar and vanilla bean paste until pale and creamy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in orange zest. Combine flour and cardamom together. Lightly fold into creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Transfer to prepared pan and sprinkle almonds over top. Bake for 45-50 mins, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely in pan. Serve sliced with warm heavy cream or ice cream.
