Pepper Steak With Mushrooms
- 1 lb. round steak, cubed
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 glove garlic, minced
- 1 box fresh mushrooms, chopped
- 2 large peppers, cut into rings
- 2 medium onions, cut into rings
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- Brown beef cubes in shortening; remove from pan.
- Blend in flour to make a smooth paste.
- Add catsup, water, soy sauce, pepper, bouillon cube, garlic and onion; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat; simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add beef to sauce; cook until tender.
- Add mushrooms, peppers and onions (rings); cook for about 10 minutes or until crisp-tender.
- Do not add salt or Accent. Serve immediately with rice.
