Lamb Burger With Tomato Sauce
- 4 tsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cider or malt vinegar
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1 small zucchini, grated
- 3/4 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 None egg, lightly beaten
- 2 tsp chopped rosemary
- 6 slices cheese
- 6 None hamburger buns, toasted
- None None Lettuce leaves, to serve
- Heat 2 tsp of the oil in a medium saucepan on high heat. Saute onion for 4-5 mins until tender. Transfer to a bowl to cool.
- Heat remaining 2 tsp oil in same pan on medium heat. Saute garlic for 1 min. Stir in tomatoes, sugar and vinegar; simmer for 5 mins.
- Mix ground lamb, zucchini, breadcrumbs, egg, rosemary and onion in large bowl. Shape mixture into 6 patties. Refrigerate 15 mins.
- Heat a large skillet on high heat. Spray with oil. Cook patties for 3-4 mins each side, until cooked through. Place cheese on the bottom of the buns. Top with lettuce, burger and tomato sauce.
