Hazelnut Crackle Cookies
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 5 tbsp butter, chopped
- 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 None egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup ground hazelnuts
- 2/3 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- Combine chocolate and butter in a small saucepan on low heat. Stir until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Transfer to a large bowl; cool for 10 mins.
- Stir in brown sugar, egg and ground hazelnuts. Sift flour, baking soda and cocoa powder into a medium bowl. Stir into cookie dough. Refrigerate for 20 mins.
- Preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Grease and line 2 large baking pans with parchment paper.
- Roll level tablespoons of cookie dough into balls. Place powdered sugar on a plate; roll each ball in sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on prepared pans.
- Bake for 15-18 mins. Cool in pan 5 mins. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.
