Cheesy Pizza Rolls
- 2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
- 2 tbsp butter, chopped
- 2 tbsp basil, chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2.75 oz white cheddar, grated
- 2.5 oz ham, chopped
- 3 tbsp sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- Preheat oven to 425u0b0F. Grease a baking sheet. Sift flour into a large mixing bowl. Add butter, rubbing in using fingertips. Stir in basil.
- Make a well in the center of flour. Combine milk with 1/2 cup water, reserve about 1 tbsp, and pour the rest into the flour. Using a knife, mix quickly to form a soft, sticky dough. Do not over-mix.
- Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly. Press or roll out to form a rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick. In a bowl, combine cheese, ham and tomatoes. Sprinkle over dough, pressing slightly.
- Roll up to form a log. Cut into 1 inch slices and arrange, cut side up and overlapping slightly, to form an oval shape. Brush with reserved milk mixture. Bake 15-20 mins, until rolls sound hollow when tapped. Cool on a wire rack.
