Pears In White Wine With Vanilla Ice Cream And Chocolate Sauce

  1. Heat the cream in a small saucepan and add the chocolate, cocoa and cinnamon and cook, while stirring, over a low heat until the chocolate has melted. Take the mixture from the heat and leave to cool.
  2. Bring the wine, sugar, lemon juice, 1/2 cup water and vanilla extract to a boil in a pot. Add the pear halves to the wine and cook over a low heat for 6-8 minutes. Remove the pears with a ladle and drain them well. Cut the pear halves into a fan-shape, and place a pear half, 1 scoop of ice cream and a little chocolate sauce serve on each of 4 plates. Serve decorated with chocolate shavings and mint to taste with the remaining sauce on the side.
