Mixed Berry And Apple Crumble

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0F. Lightly grease 4 - 8 oz ramekins.
  2. To make the crumble topping, combine flour, sugar, butter and cinnamon in a food processor. Process until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add hazelnuts and pulse until finely chopped. Sprinkle on a baking tray and bake for 10-15 mins, until golden, breaking mixture up with a fork twice during baking.
  3. Meanwhile, combine apple pie filling, berries and spice mix. Set aside.
  4. In a medium saucepan, combine reserved berry syrup, sugar and star anise. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 4-5 mins, until thickened slightly. Remove star anise. Mix gently into apple mixture then distribute between ramekins. Bake for 5-10 mins, until heated through.
  5. Sprinkle fruit with crumble and dust with powdered sugar. Serve with heavy cream.
