Fresh Apple Pound Cake

  1. Pour sugar over apples.
  2. Mix thoroughly and let stand while preparing batter.
  3. Sift together flour, soda, nutmeg and salt into large mixing bowl.
  4. Beat eggs and corn oil together.
  5. Add to dry ingredients and continue beating until smooth.
  6. Stir in vanilla, apple-sugar mixture (including juice), raisins and nuts.
  7. Continue stirring until evenly distributed through batter.
  8. If apples are not real juicy, add a little water.
  9. Pour batter into well-oiled tube pan.
  10. Bake in preheated 350u0b0 oven for 1 hour.
  11. If preferred, can add a glaze for topping, although it's delicious plain.
