Barbecued Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp

  1. Cut bacon slices in half.
  2. In a large heavy skillet, partially cook bacon about 1 minute on each side.
  3. Drain on paper towel.
  4. In a medium bowl, stir in remaining ingredients.
  5. Add shrimp; toss until well coated and let marinate at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes.
  6. Light a charcoal fire; remove shrimp from the marinade.
  7. Wrap a slice of bacon around each shrimp and secure with a toothpick.
  8. Toss in marinade to coat.
  9. Set a grill rack 5 inches from glowing coals for 5 minutes; put all the shrimp on the grill and brush on 1/2 of marinade.
  10. Turn and brush with the remaining marinade.
  11. Grill about 4 minutes on each side; serve hot or warm.
