Chocolate Caramel Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 325u0b0F. Grease a shallow 8 inch-square cake pan and line base and sides with parchment paper, extending paper 2 inches above edges.
  2. Combine flour, coconut, sugar and 7 tbsp melted butter in a medium bowl. Press firmly into base of pan and bake for 15 mins, or until lightly browned. Let cool.
  3. Combine condensed milk, remaining butter and maple syrup in a small saucepan. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Pour over base and bake for 25 mins. Let cool.
  4. Combine chocolate and oil in a small saucepan. Stir over low heat until smooth then pour over caramel. Chill for 3 hours, or until set. Cut into bars to serve.
