Aromatic Pork And Apple Salad
- 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 tsp five-spice powder
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (3/4 inch) piece fresh ginger, grated
- 1 1/2 lb pork fillets, halved
- 1/2 head iceberg lettuce, chopped coarsely
- 2 oz bean sprouts
- 1 None small red onion, sliced thinly
- 1 None medium green apple, unpeeled, sliced thinly
- 2 tbsp firmly packed fresh mint leaves
- Combine hoisin sauce, fish sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, honey, five-spice powder, garlic and ginger.
- Combine 1/2 cup sauce mixture with pork in a medium bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight.
- Stir 1 tbsp water into remaining sauce mixture and refrigerate.
- Drain pork, reserving marinade. Oil a grill pan and place over medium-high heat. Cook pork, brushing occasionally with marinade, to your liking. Cover and let rest for 10 mins. Slice thickly.
- Meanwhile, combine remaining ingredients in a medium serving bowl. Top salad with sliced pork. Serve with reserved sauce.
