Pear Crumble Cake
- 1 (12 oz) box butter cake mix
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 None large eggs
- 4 1/2 tbsp butter, at room temperature
- 2 (13.5 oz) can pear slices, drained
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- None None whipped cream, to serve
- -1 None Crumble
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cold butter, chopped
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0F. Lightly grease a 7 inch square cake pan and line base and sides with parchment paper.
- Make cake according to package instructions, using milk, eggs and butter. Transfer to prepared pan and bake for 25 mins.
- Meanwhile, to make the crumble, combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Mix in oats and cinnamon.
- Remove cake from oven. Toss pear slices in cornstarch then arrange evenly over top of cake. Sprinkle with crumble. Bake for another 20-25 mins, until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 mins then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve in slices with whipped cream.
