Vietnamese-Style Steamed Whiting

  1. Blend turmeric, ginger, chili peppers, onion, garlic, garam masala and vegetable oil in blender or food processor to make a smooth paste. Cook paste in a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan on medium-low heat until fragrant, about 40 mins. Add sugar, fish sauce and coconut cream; bring to a boil.
  2. Steam whiting and bok choy until just cooked, about 5-6 mins.
  3. To serve, spoon sauce over whiting and bok choy in serving bowls. Top with tomatoes, lime leaves and mint. Serve with rice.
