Meatballs Stuffed With Cheddar And Basil

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Saute onion and garlic for 2-3 mins, until tender. Let cool then mix with ground beef, egg, cheese, breadcrumbs, basil and tomato paste. Shape into 30 meatballs. Chill for 20 mins.
  2. Heat remaining oil and cook meatballs for 15-20 mins, turning, until browned and cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, for the tomato sauce, heat oil in a small frying pan over low heat. Saute garlic for 1 min. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 mins. Serve with meatballs.
