Monte Cristo Bake
- 3 tbsp butter, at room temperature
- 8 slices white bread
- 9 oz shaved ham
- 6 None eggs, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 3 None green onions, thinly sliced
- 4 oz cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp torn parsley leaves
- Preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Grease a 1 1/2-quart square baking dish. Butter bread, then place ham on 4 slices. Top with remaining bread. Cut in half diagonally.
- Whisk eggs, milk, garlic and green onion in a large bowl. Dip sandwiches into mixture. Arrange sandwiches in 2 rows in prepared dish, overlapping. Pour remaining egg mixture over sandwiches. Let stand 10 mins to absorb. Top with tomato and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake 40 mins or until golden and just set. Let stand for 5 mins before serving. Sprinkle with parsley.
