Tamale Pie

  1. Cook ground beef until all pink is gone; drain any grease. Add chopped onion.
  2. Cook until it is clear.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and simmer.
  4. In a large saucepan, put 4 cups cold water, cornmeal and salt.
  5. Bring to a boil; cook until the mixture is slightly thick.
  6. Add butter; stir it in until melted.
  7. Put meat mixture in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  8. Spoon cornmeal mixture over meat mixture.
  9. Bake at 350u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
