Steak Alla Pizzaiola
- 1-2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped finely
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 None orange, zested
- 4 None thin steaks (each about 4 oz), cut in half
- 1 None onion, peeled and finely diced
- 1-1 1/2 tsp tomato paste
- 2 cups canned chopped tomatoes
- 1 pinch paprika
- 4 oz black olives, pitted
- 2 stems rosemary, halved
- 1 oz Parmesan cheese, grated
- 4 slices bread
- Mix 4 tbsp of oil with the garlic and orange zest. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large skillet and sear the steak for 1 1/2 mins, turning once, season. Remove them from the pan.
- Preheat the oven to 425u0b0F. Saute the onions in the cooking fat, add the tomato paste and cook briefly. Add in the tomatoes and the paprika. Bring to a boil, simmer for 2-3 mins and stir in the olives.
- Put 2 pieces of steak and some tomato sauce into 4 small oven proof serving dishes. Sprinkle them with cheese and put a piece of rosemary on each. Place them on a baking sheet along with the 4 slices of bread. Spread each slice evenly with the garlic oil and bake everything for 5 to 7 mins.
