Walnut Brownies
- 4 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1 3/4 cups packed light brown sugar
- 12 tbsp (1 1/2 sticks) butter, melted
- 4 None eggs, beaten
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 7 oz milk chocolate, chopped
- None None Unsweetened cocoa powder, to dust
- None None Vanilla ice cream, maple syrup, walnuts and strawberries to serve
- Preheat the oven to 325u0b0F. Grease and line a deep 8-inch square cake pan with foil.
- Melt the unsweetened chocolate in a bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Place the brown sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Stir with a wooden spoon until smooth.
- Stir in the melted chocolate and flour. Add the walnuts and chopped milk chocolate; mix well. Spoon into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 50-60 mins until the center is just firm to the touch. Cool in pan for 5 mins. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. Using a sharp knife, trim off the crusty edges. Carefully cut into squares. Dust with cocoa and serve with ice cream, maple syrup, walnuts and strawberries.
