Decadent Chocolate Orange Squares
- 6 oz chocolate wafer cookies
- 8 tbsp (1 stick) butter
- 10 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp orange liqueur, such as Grand Marnier
- 1 tbsp finely grated orange peel
- 7 oz milk chocolate, melted
- 6 None candied orange slices, halved
- Lightly grease an 11 x 7-inch baking pan and line with parchment paper, extending paper 3/4 inch above the edge on the 2 long sides.
- Place cookies in a food processor and process until fine crumbs. Melt 6 tbsp of the butter and add to food processor. Pulse to combine. Press firmly into prepared pan.
- Combine semi-sweet chocolate, cream, liqueur and orange peel in a medium saucepan on low heat. Stir for 2-3 mins, until melted and smooth. Cool for 10 mins. Pour over crust in pan. Refrigerate for 30 mins, or until just set.
- Combine milk chocolate and remaining 2 tbsp butter in a saucepan. Heat, stirring, until smooth. Pour over chilled chocolate layer. Top with candied orange. Refrigerate for 3 hours, or until firm. Cut into 12 squares. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
