Fusilli With Seafood Sauce(Recipe From Nina)
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
- 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 2 cans (14 oz. each) Italian plum tomatoes with juice, chopped
- 1 doz. clams, scrubbed or 1 lb. chopped clams
- 12 oz. sea scallops
- 1/3 c. chopped, fresh basil
- 1 lb. fusilli, cooked according to pkg. directions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic.
- Cook, stirring frequently, until translucent, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in salt, pepper and red pepper flakes, then add tomatoes with juice.
- Increase heat to medium-high and simmer sauce, uncovered, 10 minutes.
- Stir in clams, scallops and basil. Cover and cook 5 minutes.
- Serves 6.
