Kielbasa Stew
- 1 pkg. kielbasa, sliced
- 5 to 6 potatoes, cut as for potato salad (may vary according to size)
- 3/4 carrots, sliced
- 1 can chicken broth
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 to 3 stalks celery, sliced
- 1/2 head cabbage, chopped as for soup
- 1/2 green pepper
- 2 (16 oz.) cans Northern beans
- garlic powder, sprinkle with shaker
- basil, sprinkle with shaker
- hamburg seasoning (optional)
- chicken bouillon crystals, sprinkle
- 2 c. water
- Mix all of the ingredients, except broth, water and seasoning. Place in 5-quart pot and then add water, broth and seasonings. Cook on high for 4 to 5 hours.
- Check several times.
- May not take as long, depending on size of diced and sliced potatoes.
- May cook on low-medium all day if desired.
