Chimichangas

  1. Allow tortillas to thaw while preparing the filling.
  2. In a saucepan, combine tomato sauce, cooked meat, onion, chili powder, garlic powder, cocoa, cumin, sugar and salt.
  3. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Allow filling to cool.
  5. Lay tortilla on a clean surface and divide the filling evenly in the center of each tortilla.
  6. Fold each tortilla like an envelope and secure with a toothpick.
  7. Deep fry on medium heat until golden brown.
  8. Drain on paper towel and keep warm, uncovered, on a warming tray or in low oven until ready to serve.
