Mama Crow'S Raisin Nut Jam Cake

  1. In large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in eggs well, then add jam.
  3. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients and beat well after each addition.
  4. Stir in raisins and nuts.
  5. Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
  6. Bake 40 minutes at 300u0b0 (or until toothpick inserted in center of layer comes out clean).
  7. Cool completely on racks.
