Swedish Meatballs

  1. Preheat the oven to 325u0b0.
  2. Grind the beef, salt pork, and bread together twice using a meat grinder or food processor. Combine with the egg, sugar, allspice, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Shape into 1 inch balls.
  3. Melt the shortening in a skillet and brown the meatballs.
  4. Transfer to a shallow casserole, pour on the beef broth, cover with foil, and bake for 45 minutes.
  5. Add the cream and cook without a cover for 15 minutes more.
